The Sea Witch was an American clipper ship launched in 1846 and built to haul valuable freight from China to the US quickly. In 1849, she made a record-setting run from Hong Kong to New York in 74 days and held that record until 2003.
Voyage of the Sea Witch is an homage to all the China clippers of the 1800's. The dangers of their journeys could include stormy seas, deadly shoals, and encounters with smugglers and pirates. Even with those potential hazards, there were always times of calm waters and starry nights, of course.
